I visited Cafe Alto and was struck by its adorable mini modern setup, with lush greenery on the walls and a limited selection of food and beverages. The five seats facing the windows and a convenient pickup window make it perfect for to-go coffees. Felix helped me choose the seasonal horchata latte, which was not only delicious but also adorned with beautiful latte art. It had just the right kick to it and left me thoroughly satisfied.

Despite my preference for a more spacious sit-down cafe, I found the cold brew at Cafe Alto to be excellent. The transient seasonal drinks and occasional vegan pastries add a delightful touch. The minimalist interior, illuminated by enormous windows, and limited counter seating (or walk-up window) create a unique ambiance.

I appreciated the grab-and-go coffee experience at Cafe Alto, especially being in Detroit where parking can be a concern. The Blueberry Coconut Latte stood out as a particularly enjoyable choice, and I also savored some food from Verna Detroit during their food pop-up at the cafe.

The quality of the coffee at Cafe Alto is unquestionable, and for the most part, the service is great. However, I was disappointed by a service incident on Christmas Eve. As a non-Christian, I felt somewhat let down when I received a “Happy Holidays” response after wishing Merry Christmas.
