I visited CJ Coffee House, which has an average rating of 4.3 out of 5. Generally, I enjoyed the coffee and food there. The Frappuccino was one of the best non-Starbucks options nearby, and the bagels were good. However, my experience was not perfect.
I had a disappointing encounter when the credit card machine wasn’t working, and the staff member, CJ, seemed to expect me to figure it out myself. This put me off, especially as I had spent quite a bit of money there. Despite this, I believe the overall rating is deserved.
The bacon burrito I ordered tasted overly salty and had rubbery contents due to the ground-up bacon. The seasonal coffee, an iced Berry White Mocha, failed to impress, tasting like plain black coffee with nothing special about it.
On another visit, I enjoyed the sunrise special and found the bagels delicious. However, the service was slow during busy hours, even for a simple bagel with cream cheese. Additionally, there was a creepy old man staring at us throughout the visit.
When I tried the veggie hummus wrap and mango smoothie, I found both to be tasty. The service was excellent, and the ambiance of the place was cute and quaint.
On a less positive note, the chicken pesto I ordered was disappointing. The chicken was white and unflavored, while the bread was soggy. The price did not match the quality of the food.
