I visited Colombian Coffee Shop in Elizabeth, NJ, and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by the cozy ambiance and the delicious Colombian dishes. The bar type seating for 8-10 people added to the charm of the place.
The best Colombian tamales are definitely something to write home about. The flavors and textures were just perfect, and I can’t wait to go back and try more of their offerings. The tamales left a lasting impression on me, and I understand why the other visitors loved them too.
The only downside I found was the size of the place – it’s EXTREMELY SMALL. This is the reason I’m leaving 4 stars, but everything else about the cafe is absolutely perfect. The service, the delicious food, and the warm, homely atmosphere make up for the limited space.
Their Colombian breakfast was the best I’ve ever tried. The bread transported me back to Colombia with its beautiful flavor and perfect cheese. It’s a must-visit for anyone in Elizabeth or the surrounding areas.
The menu offers a wide variety of Colombian specialties like tamal, lechona, caldo de costilla, pandebono, de’todito, calentao paisa, and dulces y bebidas colombianas. The sopa de costilla was excellent and hard to find elsewhere, especially for breakfast.
The service here is top-notch. The staff is incredibly nice and welcoming; I immediately felt at home. Their hospitality made the dining experience even more enjoyable.
Although not exclusively a coffee shop, I couldn’t help but mention that their authentic Colombian coffee was also a delightful addition to the meal.
The Colombian Coffee Shop lived up to its reputation. The delicious, authentic food, warm service, and inviting atmosphere make it worth a visit, despite the limited space. I will definitely be back for more of those amazing tamales and to try out their other tempting dishes.
