Fairgrounds Coffee and Tea Reviews and Opinions

I visited Fairgrounds Coffee and Tea in the Lower East Side of MKE for the first time. The initial impression was positive – it’s a pretty cute and cozy place, with a county fair type theme. However, my experience with their breakfast sandwich was disappointing. The eggs were cold, and the added bacon turned out to be bacon bits. The seating area was also not very functional, with limited outlets and uncomfortable bar stools that left my legs numb after sitting for 30 minutes. This made it difficult to find a suitable spot to charge my laptop.

Despite these drawbacks, the coffee shop has a great location, situated near Juneau Park and the Leif Erickson statue. The ambiance is enjoyable, and the employees provide good service. I particularly liked their thoughtful drink options and the unique touch of serving water in healing Ayurvedic copper mugs. The interior and exterior of the restaurant are well decorated with plenty of bright lights and cool use of upcycled materials, which adds to the overall positive atmosphere.

Regarding the menu, I enjoyed their various drip coffees, with their own Fairgrounds drip being my favorite. The coffee was great, and I also appreciated the option to enjoy a quality breakfast without feeling like I ruined my diet for the day. The extra effort put into the menu items, such as the extra tortilla melted together with cheese and the solid salsa, did not go unnoticed.

The service, however, was lackadaisical with low energy, which wasn’t very welcoming. Additionally, some of the food items, like the breakfast burrito, were described as small with very little egg, which led to a less satisfactory experience overall. On the positive side, the proximity to The Plaza Hotel was a convenience.

Fairgrounds Coffee and Tea offers a cozy and visually appealing environment, but there are areas that need improvement, such as the quality of the food and the comfort of the seating options. The positive aspects, such as the great coffee and thoughtful drink options, make it a place worth revisiting, but there’s still room for improvement in other areas to enhance the overall customer experience.
