Ballard Coffee Works Reviews and Opinions
Ballard Coffee Works is a part of Seattle Coffee Works, and I must say, I’m a fan of the coffee they serve. The coffee here is strong and strikes the right balance between caffeine and taste. However, the food options are quite limited and the taste is just okay. I’ve tried their plain croissants and a strawberry croissant.
I’ve visited this coffee shop multiple times and I must say, the ample seating throughout the store is a huge plus. Even when it gets busy, I am still able to get some work done. It’s definitely my top choice when I’m at the Ballard Farmer’s Market and need a caffeine fix.
The line can get quite long, but the service is impressively fast, so it moves pretty quickly. Additionally, the store has a retail section with various coffee and apparel for sale. Even though the coffee here is a bit pricey, the quality truly speaks for itself. This place is undeniably a far better choice to get good coffee compared to Starbucks.
I frequent this place for studying, and it’s a great spot to work or have a coffee date. In my opinion, the coffee here is the best in Seattle. If you need caffeine, I highly recommend any of their coffee options because you can actually feel the caffeine and have your coffee made any way you’d like.
There’s ample seating available, and the pricing for drinks ranges from $4-7. The coffee is good-tasting and as straightforward as coffee can get. However, the food options are minimal, mostly consisting of snacks such as banana bread-like items.
I was underwhelmed with the cappuccino and hot chocolate I ordered once. The cappuccino wasn’t strong and wasn’t served at the correct temperature. The hot chocolate tasted like sugary Swiss mix powder and wasn’t pleasant at all. The negative experience left me feeling as if the money spent was wasted.
Before Covid, this was a sweet place to sit for a few hours, and the exceptional coffee made it an ideal spot to work or relax. The staff was extremely knowledgeable about coffee and was always willing to give recommendations.
During Covid, I called and ordered ahead to show my support. However, after Covid, the hours of operation changed, which was disappointing but understandable given the circumstances. Overall, Ballard Coffee Works is a great place for excellent coffee and ample seating, although food options may be limited. The staff’s knowledge of coffee is commendable, and despite some underwhelming experiences, the overall quality of the coffee makes it worth a visit.
