I went to Asensio Coffee with my significant other for a relaxing afternoon and found it to be a cute little coffee shop, offering both indoor and outdoor seating. The breakfast burritos were delicious, and I noticed they had some seasonal items on rotation, and the apple cider was particularly tasty. They had a good variety of non-coffee drinks and an impressive selection of bakery items. The price to quality ratio was excellent, which was a major plus for me.
The barista was incredibly sweet and managed to convince me to try their wrapped cookies at the counter. Despite my initial hesitation due to them being vegan, it turned out to be one of my favorites. The owner-operated neighborhood coffee shop consistently provided attentive and friendly service. The breakfast sandwiches were delicious, and although I’d never tried the pastries, they always looked tempting.
On the downside, some visitors expressed disappointment with the coffee quality. There were complaints about the espresso shot tasting burnt and Irish cream lattes being bitter and watered down. One customer mentioned that their previous experiences with the coffee had been much better, leaving uncertainty about the consistency of the coffee quality. The Apple strudel muffin was deemed just okay.
I encountered a little difficulty when placing my order, possibly due to the busyness of the shop. I was also disappointed that they didn’t accept orders through the Joe app and that I couldn’t call in my order. My order included 2 coffee drinks and 2 breakfast sandwiches, but two items were incorrect. Although they fixed the coffee mistake, I couldn’t rectify the sandwich error as I only noticed it once I got home. Nevertheless, the overall experience was positive, and I’m willing to give them another chance.
Despite the mixed reviews on coffee quality and order accuracy, I found Asensio Coffee to be a great local spot with a charming interior and a few seats suitable for working. They offered a range of coffee and non-coffee beverages, including seasonal flavors like lavender and pumpkin spice. Additionally, having dedicated parking and providing great service made it a place I would consider revisiting when in the area or in need of a quick coffee fix.
