I recently visited Coffee Factory and the first thing that caught my attention was their impressive shaved ice. The persimmon flavor was rich, creamy, and absolutely huge. However, my experience took a turn when I ordered a mocha frappucino. Unfortunately, it tasted more like a chocolate milkshake, lacking any hint of coffee. I was disappointed to learn that it was made with chocolate syrup, espresso syrup, and ice cream, making it overly sweet and overpriced at $7.02.

Comparing it to other coffee shops, I found Paris Baguette to have the best mocha, with a larger size costing less than $6. On the other hand, Starbucks’ mocha didn’t sit well with me, as it lacked consistency in taste across their different locations.

Despite the mocha mishap, I was reminded of the positive aspects of Coffee Factory when I recalled their memorable shaved ice bowl from a previous visit. The simple and clean decor, coupled with ample outdoor seating, created a pleasant atmosphere. The menu offered a wide variety of options, although the quality of desserts and pastries seemed lacking.

While the matcha shaved ice was delicious, the absence of ice cream on top was a minor setback. However, the balance of sweetness in the matcha and the overall flavor profile of the shaved ice redeemed the experience.
