I visited Urth Caffe in downtown LA and found it to be a delightful place with a mix of positive and negative experiences. The atmosphere was inviting, and the food and drinks were so good that I couldn’t resist coming back for another visit before leaving. This made me pleasantly “forced” to change my plans. The first row seats to an impromptu puppy play session added an extra touch of joy to the experience.

The breakfast meal, sandwiches, and overall quality of the food were commendable. The cafe itself is a lovely spot to hang out with friends, although securing a table can be challenging, especially for larger groups. Some tables are on the sidewalk, which can be a bit distracting due to the foot traffic, but there’s always seating available to avoid those areas. On the bright side, there’s plenty of parking around the cafe.

During my visit for an early dinner, the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed, and the drinks were slow to arrive. Despite this, the drinks were terrific, and the food was fresh and tasty. However, the parking situation can be described as a NIGHTMARE, with limited options and exorbitant rates.

Unfortunately, the overall sentiment of the place was not universally positive. Some visitors felt that the cafe was just okay and not particularly remarkable. The long queues and high number of reviews left them puzzled. This sentiment contrasts with my own experience, where I found several must-try items on the menu that I loved, such as the avocado pizza and Spanish coffee. However, I did not enjoy the turkey burger and hazelnut chocolate cake as much.
