I visited Ghostlight Coffee (Midtown) and was delighted with the diverse choices on the menu. The 12oz hot Van. Latte and the 12oz hot Mocha were not my typical coffee flavor profile, but they were delicious. The fruity notes in the coffee were clearly discernible, and the sandwiches on English muffins were tasty, even though they were out of bagels. The service was quick and friendly, although I wished for a bigger selection of baked goods, notably the basic choc. Chip cookie.
On another visit, I was impressed by the cozy atmosphere and the extremely friendly workers. The vanilla cappuccino and chocolate peanut butter muffin were delightful, not too sweet. The workers even surprised me with an outstanding latte featuring caramel and rose-cardamom flavors. It was so good that I had to go back for more. The workers definitely made my day!
However, not all experiences were as positive. The coffee did not meet the high standards I expected, especially considering the price. The paper cup it was served in reduced the feel of the coffee’s quality, which was disappointing. On top of that, the recent service issues, with multiple incorrect orders, were very disappointing. Communication between front of house and back of house needs improvements, especially when handling specific dietary requirements like vegan orders.
