I visited Crows Coffee | South Plaza during a trip with my husband and was pleasantly surprised by the experience. The atmosphere was just what we needed – relaxing and inviting. The coffee we ordered had a robust flavor and a smooth finish, meeting our expectations for a high-quality brew. The lack of acidity and bitterness was a major plus for us, and it’s exactly the kind of coffee we prefer. The caramel macchiato I enjoyed was super good, made with love, and exactly how I like it.

We are quite particular about our coffee and typically only give reviews to places that serve better coffee than Starbucks. Crows Coffee definitely impressed us, and I can see why it has a solid 4.6 out of 5 average rating. I appreciated the use of Messenger beans in my mocha, which added to the overall positive experience. The availability of ample seating both inside and outside was also a bonus.

However, there was a slight downside to my visit. The person who took my order and prepared my mocha had a terrible attitude and provided subpar customer service. This prevented me from giving the establishment a perfect 5-star rating, despite the fact that my drink itself was satisfying. The staff’s demeanor does impact the overall experience significantly. Nonetheless, the positive aspects of the visit outweighed this issue.

I must highlight the exceptional service provided by barista Hunter. He was incredibly friendly, fun to talk to, and genuinely helped enhance my drink order. His outstanding customer interaction made a lasting impression on me and reflects well on the business. If I had the authority, I would give him a raise immediately. The shop’s environment and the presence of such great employees make it a place I’d be eager to revisit when I’m back in town. It has become my early morning favorite coffee spot in KC.
